What Type K looks like in use

Type K is the Danish standard: two round pins like a Europlug plus a D-shaped earth pin projecting from the socket.

The shape is designed so that a Europlug can be inserted without touching the earth pin, which keeps chargers working while still earthing Danish appliances.

Watch out: Type K sockets accept Type C and Type K plugs. German Schuko plugs do not fit.

Buying an adapter. Danish sockets accept a Europlug, so a standard European adapter handles chargers. For anything earthed you need an adapter sold as Type K or “Denmark”.
