What to expect in Bali
Bali runs on the Indonesian standard: 230 V, 50 Hz, Types C and F. Villas and boutique hotels often have universal sockets that also take American and British plugs, but do not rely on it. Bring an adapter if you are coming from the UK, US or Australia.
Power in Indonesia comes mainly from coal, natural gas, hydro. Grid reliability is described as moderate.
Good to know: C and F are standard.
What to pack for Bali
- A travel adapter with Type C and Type F on the socket side.
- A step-down converter if you are bringing 110 V appliances that are not marked 100–240 V.
- A device label check: anything marked 100–240 V needs the adapter, nothing else.
